La gru del Giappone, o gru dalla corona rossa (detta Tancho in giapponese), è un animale iconico. La specie è simbolo di lunga vita, felicità e buona fortuna. Da tradizione si pensa che la gru del Giappone viva per 1000 anni per trasportare le anime in paradiso, essendo monogama rappresenta anche la fededeltà e armonia della coppia. Ma non solo, asse sono una delle sette divinità che sorvolano la Takarabune (宝船, lett. "La nave del tesoro"), la nave mitica pilotata attraverso i cieli dalle Sette Divinità della Fortuna durante i primi tre giorni del Capodanno | The whooping crane of Japan, or red-crowned crane (called Tancho in Japanese), is an iconic animal. The species is a symbol of long life, happiness and good luck. Traditionally, the whooping crane of Japan is thought to live for 1,000 years to transport souls to heaven, being monogamous it also represents the faithfulness and harmony of the couple. But not only that, axis are one of the seven deities flying over the Takarabune (宝船, lit. "The Treasure Ship"), the mythical ship piloted through the skies by the Seven Deities of Fortune during the first three days of the New Year.
